EMDR Therapy

Reprocess trauma. Reclaim peace. Reconnect

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a research-backed psychotherapy that helps you reprocess distressing memories, reduce emotional triggers, and replace negative beliefs with more adaptive ones. Using bilateral stimulation such as guided eye movements or taps. EMDR supports your brain in processing traumatic experiences so they stop overwhelming the present.

What is EMDR Therapy?

EMDR Therapy for Trauma
Trauma can leave you feeling stuck, like you’re still bracing for something that already happened. Logically, you know that it’s over. But your body hasn’t gotten the message. EMDR helps you gently reprocess the moments that overwhelmed your nervous system so your brain can finally store them as something that happened in the past instead of something that still feels current. Whether your trauma was obvious (like a car accident, medical emergency, or violence) or harder to name (like emotional neglect or long-term stress), EMDR doesn’t ask you to relive the pain. Instead, it supports your brain’s natural healing process using bilateral stimulation and a structured protocol that is tailored to your needs. Over time, those memories lose their emotional intensity. Through EMDR, you'll gain more space to feel grounded, connected, and in control of your life.

EMDR Therapy for Anxiety
Anxiety can be exhausting. It might show up as overthinking, irritability, physical tension, or a constant sense that something bad is about to happen. Even when things are technically “fine,” your brain may stay on high alert. EMDR helps uncover the experiences and beliefs that are keeping your nervous system stuck in that state. You may not even realize how early those beliefs started to take hold. Thoughts like “I can’t relax” or “I have to keep it together” often come from unprocessed stress. Through EMDR, we’ll gently target the memories and patterns that shaped those beliefs. Over time, your brain starts to tell a different story that includes safety, capability, and trust in yourself.

EMDR Therapy for ADHD
EMDR doesn't "heal" or "fix" ADHD. But if you’ve been living with ADHD, you’ve probably spent years trying to prove you’re not lazy, careless, or unreliable. Maybe you’ve overcompensated, masked your struggles, or internalized a sense of failure. Even when you know it’s your brain wiring, it can still feel heavy to carry the shame, self-doubt, and emotional overwhelm that often come with it. EMDR can help you begin to untangle these patterns. You might use EMDR to process being misunderstood in school, dismissed by providers, or constantly told to “just try harder.” Over time, you may notice a shift. Less urgency to prove yourself. Less spiraling when something goes wrong. More space to feel grounded and respond in ways that work for you. EMDR can also be adapted for ADHD brains!

EMDR Therapy for Panic
Panic attacks can feel like they come out of nowhere. Once they start, it becomes hard to trust your body again. You might find yourself scanning for danger, avoiding certain places, or feeling like your world is getting smaller. EMDR helps you explore the root of these intense fear responses. Often, panic stems from an earlier experience your brain never had the chance to fully process. EMDR gives your nervous system a second chance to complete that process, so it no longer sees everyday situations as threats. This approach is different from managing symptoms alone; it helps resolve what is underneath them. Clients often report feeling more calm in their bodies, more confident in their ability to cope, and less afraid of their fear.

How Does EMDR Work?

EMDR follows an eight-phase protocol designed to help you reprocess distressing memories safely and effectively:

Identify target memories and negative beliefs to reprocess.

3. Assessment

4. Desensitization

Use bilateral stimulation to reduce distress from traumatic memories.

End each session feeling grounded and calm.

7. Closure

8. Reevaluation

Review progress and plan next steps for ongoing healing.

Learn coping and grounding skills to feel safe and supported.

1. History Taking

Share your story, symptoms, and therapy goals.

2. Preparation

Notice and release any remaining physical or emotional tension.

5. Installation

Strengthen positive beliefs to replace old narratives.

6. Body scan
