Who I am, and how I got here:
I spent a number of years working as a therapist in a correctional facility, while also being part of the emergency response team. In that role, I had to step in during some pretty intense situations like hostage standoffs and barricaded individuals. I understand how tough a high-stress job like that can be—not just on you, but also on your loved ones. Being in a job where you have little control, dealing with traumatic events, and constantly facing change can really mess with how you see the world and connect with people. That’s why I’m passionate about helping people in high-stress careers manage their emotions, take care of their well-being, and build stronger relationships with the people around them.
Who I help:
I enjoy working with clients who work in high-stress environments. This might include firefighters, pilots, medical professionals, teachers, or therapists. As a trauma specialist, I aim to support you in healing the trauma so you can show up for the people in your life who mean the most to you.
How I help:
I pride myself on building and maintaining a supportive and collaborative environment where healing and growth can thrive. I invest time in understanding my clients, enabling us to develop personalized goals. This process involves carefully choosing and implementing suitable therapy techniques that align best with your goals. Therapy can be challenging at times, but I am committed to standing by your side, offering unwavering support through your transformative journey. My style and approach is compassionate and understanding, yet also straightforward and practical. I do this to promote clarity and minimize confusion by providing clear and concise guidance, utilizing evidence-based practices. This helps my clients gain a better understanding of their concerns and goals, as well as the steps required to address them. I bring my authentic self to our therapeutic space to foster trust and emphasize honesty and open communication. I encourage my clients to practice transparency by creating a safe space for clients to explore their thoughts and emotions.
Off the clock:
I can be found riding horses, trying to keep up with my German Short-Haired Pointer (Dax) on hikes, or trying new CO coffee shops with my husband while complaining that they’ll never be as good as WA. IYKYK…
